Unimontes is opening applications for student aid for low-income students

Low-income students at the State University of Montes Claros (Unimontes) can enroll in the university’s State Student Assistance Program (Peaes) starting this Thursday (2/22). Applications for benefits can be made by 3/3 at the link.

In the first semester of 2024, university students with per capita family income equal to or less than 1.5 times the minimum wage will receive food assistance, housing assistance, transportation assistance, day care assistance, didactic-pedagogical assistance and inclusive assistance. , as defined by notification 01/2024.

Digital inclusion support is aimed at purchasing data packages, access to fixed internet or even equipment such as a tablet, laptop or desktop. The allowance will be paid for up to 12 months in the amount of R$250.

Unimontes Extension Vice Chancellor Professor Rogerio Otto Teixeira Alves emphasized the importance of assistance for students to stay properly enrolled and attend courses. “Aids are tools that expand students’ opportunities and are necessary for them to complete their degrees,” she said.
